Borodinopristis Schwimmeri
Borodinopristis Schwimmeri is an extremely rare cretaceous sawfish with very unqiue rostral spines and oral teeth. In a paper by Dave Cicimurri, he publiched an assemblage from a Donoho Creek Formation lag deposit in which he collected macro and micro fossils. He collected a total of 3,614 specimens - in those he only found 1 Borodinopristis Schwimmeri oral tooth and no rostral spines. Its rostral spines are similar to those of ptychotrygon in size, only being 2-3mm long, however they are very distinct as they have 3 “wrinkles” on the way up the crown.
Size: 1-2mm
Scale: N/A
Age: Late Cretaceous
Oral Tooth
This is the only oral tooth I have found due to the overwhelming rarity of its teeth. They are extremely disctinct in having a protrusion on the top of the crown and a wrinked enamel surface. This specimen is ~1mm.
