Orectoloboides sp. (Carpet Shark)

This is an unidentified species of carpet shark. I have only found one specimen of it, and have not been able to nail down an identification outside of the genus. Carpet sharks include bamboo sharks, nurse sharks, and many other types of shark. They have been around since the Jurassic and have many small teeth in their jaws. They typically live on the bottom foraging in sediment for molluscs and crustaceans. There is a notable exception - the whale shark - which is a filter feeder and holds the title as the largest shark and fish in the world.

Size: 1-2mm

Orectoloboides Tooth

The teeth of carpet sharks in general are miniscule, usually only a couple millimeters large at the largest. This tooth is no exception, being only ~1mm.
