Sphenodiscus is a species of Cretaceous ammonite and is, to my knowledge, the only species of traditional coiled ammonite found in South Carolina. It is a relatively rare find originating in the PeeDee formation. The preservation is typically quite poor, and usually no more than a small section is preserved.
