Velociraptorines
The velociraptorine teeth from South Carolina have been identified as being from Saurornitholestes langstoni. Velociraptorines were a smaller set of theropod dinosaurs, typically about the size of a large dog. It is known that they had feathers as their bones have bumps on them called quill knobs, which are where their feathers would have attached in life. They have small teeth that are identifiable by the nature of their serrations, especially the difference in the size of serrations between carinae.
Age: Late Cretaceous
Saurornitholestes langstoni teeth
These teeth are identifiable by having a small crown (~5mm), very thin, strongly curved and the stark contrast in size of serrations between the front and back carina (cutting edge).
Saurornitholestes langstoni phalanges
These phalanges are much more sharply hooked than those of ornithomimid dinosaurs. Both of them are identified as pedal (foot) phalanges.
